Great Britain, Victoria, Godless Florin 1849, XF+
N.B.: This issue was known as the ‘Godless’ Florin since there was no ‘D.G.’ or Dei Gratia (meaning ‘by the Grace of God’). The denomination of one tenth of a pound was an early nod to a decimal currency but it would be more than 120 years before British coinage finally went decimal.
